Carved Light Baaliyaan

Description

Each slender hoop carries a continuous band of fine facets cut into the gold, so that even the simplest turn of the head sends light traveling along its curve. The baaliyaan need nothing but the warmth of their metal, worn close to the lobe in the quiet confidence of a piece returned to morning after morning. Here, ornament is not added but revealed from within the surface itself.
